Meet The Principal

Mrs. Ann Hoffman is in her first year serving as principal of Sacred Heart Catholic School. She received her Bachelor of Science in Education from Illinois State University, an NCATE recognized School of Education. Mrs. Hoffman earned a Masters in Educational Administration from Lindenwood University. Additionally, she has completed post-graduate studies in Instructional Leadership, earning an Education Specialist (Ed.S) at Lindenwood University.

Mrs. Hoffman has completed coursework for Catechist Certification through the Paul VI Institute as well as Coordinator of Religious Education certification. She has served on the team responsible for planning the annual Virtue Based Restorative Discipline Summer Institute. She has also served as the Region 7 representative for the Parent Coalition Network, a joint effort through the Archdiocese of St. Louis Catholic Education Center and West County Psychological. Mrs. Hoffman is a member of the first Principal Leadership Group designed to assist principals as they strengthen their leadership practices.

Mrs. Hoffman has been a teacher for 20 years working with students grades Kindergarten through 8. Her administrative experience includes 3 years as Assistant Principal at Immaculate Conception Catholic School and 7 years as principal of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic School prior to coming to Sacred Heart Catholic School.

Working collaboratively in professional learning communities is one aspect of educational practice currently at the forefront for Sacred Heart Catholic School. Together with four other Region 7 (Lincoln and St. Charles County) Catholic schools, principals are working to develop Professional Learning Communities (PLC) among grade level and specialty teachers. In addition, faculty at Sacred Heart has begun work on its own PLC studying effective teaching strategies to enhance student achievement.

Mrs. Hoffman was nominated by her Region 7 peer principals for the St. Rose Philippine Duchesne Distinguished Principal Award. She has been awarded grants through the Governal-Ryan Grant for professional development for faculty. Mrs. Hoffman serves on School Improvement Team visits to other Catholic schools as facilitator of the visit. She has given presentations to new principals regarding spiritual leadership.

Working with students, faculty, parents, and the parish to strengthen Catholic Identity, Academic Excellence, and Servant Leadership will be the focus of the school’s efforts for continuous improvement.
