Service Learning

All Sacred Heart students are encouraged to think of the needs of others and to practice the Corporal Works of Mercy. They frequently visit and entertain at the local nursing home and make cards for the residents.  Several times a year the students collect items for the needy and donate this to the St. Vincent de Paul Society.  A Mission/ Prolife Carnival benefits Birthright, SSND Missions, and other local and foreign missions.

At Christmas each classroom adopts a needy family through Sts. Joachim and Ann Care Service. Cards are made for the homebound in the parish and retired priests and religious sisters. They have participated in fundraisers for the Jump Rope for the Heart Association and Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America (CCFA).

The students in grades 6-8 have required service hours for graduation.
